Within the 3rd Memorial Conference "Predrag Maric", the NEWSIMRD team conducted an exercise of a digital fire simulation. Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Petar Stanojević, a demonstration exercise of a digital fire simulation was performed, involving members of the Belgrade Fire Brigade. The theme of this year's Memorial Conference scientific-professional panels was "Digital Simulations of Emergency Situations and New Technologies in Risk Management".
In the Grand Hall of the Captain Miša's Mansion, on April 24, 2024, the Third Memorial Conference dedicated to the memory of the renowned Head of the Sector for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of the Interior, Police General Predrag Marić, was held. He was a pioneer and the visionary behind the disaster risk reduction system in the Republic of Serbia.
The National Simulation Center proudly hosted an Open Day event, attracting an enthusiastic crowd of over 20 students. The event, held on Monday, offered a unique opportunity for students to engage with advanced simulation technologies and gain hands-on experience in various projects. The highlight of the day was "Project Day 1," where students showcased their innovative projects and explored the center's state-of-the-art facilities.
The second "Predrag Marić" Memorial Scientific-Professional Conference was held on March 20 in Belgrade, with a formal Academy being held to commemorate the occasion. The event brought together 70 authors, experts, and university professors who shared their experiences and knowledge on the importance of improving the work of competent services on prevention and timely response in emergency situations.
As part of the dissemination activities and promotion of the newly established National Center for Simulations within the "NEWSIMR&D" project, Serbian National Broadcasting Service - RTS has aired coverage. .
As part of the establishment of the National Center for Simulations within the "NEWSIMR&D" project, the first in a series of training sessions for the use of the newly opened NSC was held on February 20, 2023. .
The National Simulation Center for Risk Studies is a place that represents a base for scientific research, training, development and improvement of expert knowledge and skills, given that it is equipped with the most modern devices and applications. .
The meeting was held in the premises of the Faculty of Security Studies of the University of Belgrade on January 26, 2023. It was attended by 45 participants from seven institutions and organizations. .
Within the “NEWSIMR&D” project, supported by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, the first project’s Conference “Strategic and normative framework of the Republic of Serbia for mitigation of contemporary security risks” was held.
The consortium of four academic institutions - University of Belgrade, Faculty of Security Studies, Faculty of Engineering of the University of Kragujevac, University of Criminal Investigation and Police Studies, and Strategic Research Institute, University of Defence will implement a three year project aiming to develop the National Simulation Center for simulation and modelling of security risks.
